Image and Video Computing Research in Computer Science at Boston University.
Abstract . I will present an overview of research projects in the Image and Video Computing Research Group at Boston University. We develop methods for detection, segmentation, registration, and tracking of objects in visible-light, infrared, and x-ray image data, collected from single or multiple imaging devices. We use these methods for gesture, vehicle, and animal tracking, video-based human-computer interfaces, medical imaging analysis, and sign language recognition. I will give a demostration of a camera-based interface for people with severe motion impairments, show a tracking system that we use to census millions of flying bats in Texas, and discuss computational models of airway trees that improve our understanding of asthma.
